INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY DISCLOSURE FORMS
If you're an employee of WSU and believe you have developed something that is unique, read Disclosure Form Guidelines, and fill out the appropriate form and submit it to WSU Ventures to initiate the process.
This form is used when the University or a Principle Investigator (PI) within the University would like to discuss proprietary information with outside sources. It gives legal protection to the owners of the intellectual property.
MATERIAL TRANSFER AGREEMENTS
These agreements are used when intellectual property materials are being shared with another entity, such as a university, that can enhance the intellectual property via further research. This agreement helps set the boundaries of ownership and rights for each researcher. Please contact Becky Hundley (316-978-5199) if you need to send or receive proprietary materials.
SPONSORED RESEARCH AGREEMENTS
Written in many forms to suit particular needs, the basic idea is to legally protect the University in its business dealings with outside companies. The University, as with any industry, strives to match its research assets to businesses of interest. While doing so, the University needs to protect its intellectual property so further developments can prosper from those findings.

CONFLICT OF INTEREST
Identified and potential conflicts in time allotment or financial interests between Wichita State University investigators and the University’s research goals and academic mission need to be assessed in the initial phase of any employment relationship. These same conflicts have to be taken into account with invention commercialization as WSU investigators within the university system begin to take an invention to market or startup a company. WSU Ventures will work with you to ensure your conflict of interest form is up-to-date.
These agreements are contractual mechanisms to allow others outside Wichita State University to use or manufacture intellectual property owned by WSU. There is a wide range of terms in this type of agreement, from exclusivity to fields of use to royalties and fees.
The administration of intellectual property at Wichita State University is guided and governed by university, state and federal policies and regulations. Below are links to the primary governing policies and regulations:
